and/or Pacific Islander descent the opportunity
to showcase their work.

The HBO Max Asian Pacific American Visionaries is a short film competition sponsored by HBO Max that provides emerging directors of Asian and/or Pacific Islander descent the opportunity to showcase their work.

The theme for the 2022 APA Visionaries Short Film Competition is “Power of Love.” Films should center and portray ways in which Asian Pacific Americans perceive and show love in their relationships, friendships, or families. 

In addition to receiving cash prizes, the films will be selected to make their premiere at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in May 2022 and offered the opportunity to have the winner's Film premiere on HBO platform(s) (including on HBO Max).

Film premieres will be at HBO and HBO Max's sole discretion.
